Now Hiring a Remote Copywriter

Thank you for your interest in this role! Due to high interest, we are no longer accepting applications at this time.

Are you a skilled copywriter and editor who loves helping others shine through creative copy?

Do you find great joy in doing work well the first time around?

Are you ready to put your writing and editing skills to good use?

Then you’re likely just who we’re looking for!

A bit about us:

We’re Custom Content Solutions LLC, a small digital content marketing agency run by an entirely remote team. We take great pride in delivering online content (read: website copy, blog posts, lead magnets, emails, whitepapers and more) that matches each customer’s brand voice (yes, we do brand messaging work, too). We’re all about making connections through our content, client relationships, community engagement and beyond.

What about you? Are you:

  • A lover of words?
  • A believer in personalized customer service?
  • Excited about bringing out the best in yourself and others?
  • A self-starter who loves problem-solving?
  • Someone who gets pumped over processes as well as writing?
  • A bit quirky…actually, a total nerd?

If this sounds like you, keep reading for more details!

We’re looking for a Creative Word Nerd (i.e., remote copywriter) who embraces all aspects of content creation, including writing, editing, interviewing and strategizing.

What you’ll do here:

  • Write unique, personalized marketing copy for each customer—tailored to their preferences regarding point of view, voice and tone—to create copy that connects with their visitors and converts them into paying clients
  • Edit and proofread copy created by other members of the CCS team to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain high editorial standards for all copy, with a focus on clarity and conciseness and a goal of delivering final content that matches customer expectations
  • Manage interviews with clients to gather the information that will allow you to write in their voice, target their audience, and encourage conversions
  • Work in tandem with the team to plan, create and execute marketing efforts to promote CCS and our services

The right person for this position:

  • Has at least one year of copywriting and editing experience (AP Style!)
  • Has a great eye for detail and is dedicated to consistency
  • Is technology savvy
  • Believes in delivering nothing but the best customer service
  • Connects quickly with others and enjoys working with a team to complete a project
  • Thrives in a deadline-driven environment and can handle multiple projects at a time
  • Loves a good challenge
  • Takes constructive criticism and negative feedback in stride
  • Is organized and strategic about how they spend their time
  • Takes full ownership of and pride in their work

This position is wrong for anyone who:

  • Prefers to work solo
  • Avoids customer interactions like the plague
  • Is looking for a side hustle while building their own business
  • Isn’t adaptable to change
  • Doesn’t enjoy being part of a tight-knit and fun team

Still interested? Sweet! This position offers:

  • A job where you get paid to do what you love and where you can let all your strengths come shining through
  • A supportive, encouraging environment where you can spread your wings and learn new things
  • The ability to help others shine their own light, helping them find success in their businesses
  • A non-traditional boss who embraces flexibility, family and fun

Finally, a few important details:

We’re looking for someone who is ready to dive into a flourishing team. This person should also be willing to learn right along with us as we continue to grow. A rising tide lifts all boats!

  • Position Type: Full Time, Employee
  • Hours: 35-40 hours per week (client-facing hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday-Thursdays and 8 am to 12 pm Friday, Central Time Zone)
  • Pay: $24-$27 per hour
  • Retirement Savings: Simple IRA with up to 3% company match
  • Home Office Stipend: Up to $1,500 to help set up/upgrade your home office
  • Paid Training: Hands-on, paid training at your regular hourly rate, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Paid Holidays: ~18 days each calendar year + your birthday!
  • Paid Time Off: 10 days offered in your first year, extending with your tenure
  • Summer Fridays Yearround: Offices close at noon Central Time EVERY Friday
  • Annual Team Retreat: Travel, lodging and most meals are covered during our annual team retreat (you’ll also receive your regular wages for each day)
  • Location: Remote (and we’ve been this way since our start in 2013)

Note: What matters most is that we bring someone onto this team who’ll be excited to come to work every day. So, if there’s something in this job description that caught your eye and has you thinking, “I want to do that,” go ahead and apply!
